BLUEMOMENT

We left Greenock for Portavadie on Sunday and although bloody cold it was a pleasant motor round the Kyles.
We saw quite a few boats out and about and even a few with sails up.

It worked this time.

We were on the mooring nearest the jetty both nights and when the swell was in full swing the other boats appeared to be moving as much as us.
Tried to post a photo of Craighouse in the sunshine but seem to have lost the ability. Watch this space....

We had two nights at Craighouse at the end of July, the first night we got bounced about like mad but the second night we barely moved.

We had similar speeds and tide through the Sound of Luing from Kerrera the previous day and arrived in Craighouse much earlier than planned. Great fun, but persuading Mrs out of bed at 0630 while on holiday to catch the tide was the difficult part. The trip back up to Crinan on Friday was much slowe...

We went through Friday and Saturday and it wasn't too busy but they stopped a bit sharp to top the water up.
The weather was glorious.

Has anyone here been through recently?

I haven't been to Troon for a while but had heard that Sandy has retired. Will maybe take a run down there.

No aggression I don't think. As we passed the buoy at the point it appeared with a splash and played alongside and under the boat for a while then swam off. I spoke to a couple of other people that day who had seen the same thing at the point.

Any idea what the tail slapping is all about?
There was a dolphinh ambushing boats at Ardlamont three or four of Saturdays ago.

I need some work done (other than normal servicing) on a Yanmar engine in the Firth of Clyde area. Does anyone have any recommendations.
