Fascinating stuff.

I like innovations - the bow board idea looks impressive.

OTOH, this statement has left me a bit puzzled: Theoretically, placing a lead weight on the mast top would increase stability even more.

I remember puzzling over that for a while too. At first I thought he was referring to roll inertia when he said stability but finally reckoned that he meant that having more weight at the top of the mast when it was canted to windward would make the boat stiffer, like a canting keel.

However I can see a number of downsides to this proposition :!: as does he, I'm sure, hence the "theoretically".
