Wight Dawn has now been sold and is in regular use by her very nice new owners. Please give them a wave if you see them.

We saw White Dawn at the weekend but I didn't get chance to talk to her new custodians.
Seminole.
Cheers Bob.

Noticed that she was missing from the sales pontoon last weekend.Bodach na mara wrote:Wight Dawn has now been sold and is in regular use by her very nice new owners. Please give them a wave if you see them.

Glad to hear that she sold, and is being well used.
Where will she be based / berthed?

So, old man of the sea (and wummin) where are the details of the replacement to fill your particular dent in the ocean?

Wonder if the new owners will be a bit sharper in responding to their VHF

Re: Change of user name
To answer the various questions,
The new owners (Alastair and Fiona) intend to keep her on a mooring at Fairlie,
The replacement hole in the water is likely to be a Westerly Seahawk. When I get too old to sail, I can always fit wheels I am told.
Maybe Alastair will remember to turn the VHF on and knows not to press the 4 digit button (which turns the speaker off so that you can call people but cannot her any replies.) Or was it the 2 button? Ah yes, 4 selects dual watch.

If you're thinking of a Seahawk, is a nearby Falcon worth considering? No extra charge for delivery to Fairlie or thereabouts.

Re: Change of user name
Thanks Derek, we did consider a Falcon but the aft cabin on the Seahawk is the big attraction. There are two Seahawks down south so I feel confident that at least one will be suitable.
Mind you, we looked at two on our last trip (or three counting the one that was under offer and for which the sale fell through.) One was overpriced and had been neglected for over two years as the owner is ill. The other was OK, but on closer inspection there were a few things that I could see not actually working and it was away up the creek in Suffolk. All in all, we felt it was going to be too much of a project to get it to the Clyde and into cruising condition. So we may be in the same state next week and will certainly have a look at you Falcon, which is in Ardfern if I remember correctly.

Not Ardfern, it's ashore at Creran Marine in Barcaldine. Feel free to have a good look round. Ask Ewan at Creran for a key.

New boat bought and due to be collected today by big lorry. So sorry cpdew, but I won't be in the market for a Falcon. Best of luck with your sale anyway.
