Autumn is the first in a series of 5 books. The stories revolve around different people and events in each of the 5 books but which all come together in book 5. It is set in modern day England. The population is suddenly afflicted by some unknown, invisible agent that kills instantly leaving a very few lonely survivors. A few days later the dead rise. The book never uses the Z word and this is not about flesh tearing, human eating zombies, not at all. This is still one for the fans of the zombie genre though.
