Rock hits boat
.
Talking with friends in the pub last night who have had a rock run into their boat.
Even Claymore has never come out with that one.

The rock in question was making way.
I find it hard to believe your pothole was doing likewise.

Re: Rock hits boat
No, possibly not - aground certainly and I didn't see anyone in there so possibly not under command. The thing is, there were no lights.
Actually, it was in the daytime, all the same, a signal of some sort one might have expected?

Re: Rock hits boat
Was this person obeying the colregs when the rock hit them?
If I could quote Annex (8) to the Rules:
'If a close quarters situation is imminent, the most prudent action may be to take all way off the vessel (or rock).

I can confirm that all way was off the vessel at the time of impact.lady_stormrider wrote:Was this person obeying the colregs when the rock hit them?

Re: Rock hits boat
There is an anchorage up the Deben called The Rocks....but I think it's just slightly harder mud. Mud or sand just like the rest of the south east corner of England. Anyway, I thought you had a saying up there that, "The rocks don't move" so justifying economising on charts.

In the same vein as other pets has anybody checked to see if this rock has been 'chipped'Nick wrote:.
