The Other Chentleman's Cruise

Post by Silkie »

In the light of recent events it seems that there might be a need for a Scottish cruise in the early part of the 2007 season. I like the traditional weekend (which will be Friday 4th to Monday 7th May this year) since it allows a margin of error for launching and shakedown while still being firmly at the start of the season. Strangely, my diary is already clear for this weekend.

Whaddyathink?

Cruises

Post by DaveS »

By chance, my diary's clear too that weekend (and most others for that matter now :D )

I'd be more than happy to participate in an Unchentlemanly Cruise.

I am also intending to join the Chentlemen's Cruise in the Clyde, but this might be quite brief since I don't really want to go back through the Canal - unless the weather turns manky.

4-7 May

Post by Telo »

4-7 May looks fine for me, assuming no hitches in getting Shard back to West Highland waters. I would hope to be in Appin on the previous evening, Thursday 3rd May.

A quorum already. Any more? I heard a rumour that Ash was thinking of moving Mistral to the briny this year. It'd be jist like auld times wi' a Vega in the fleet.

The idea of Mistral on the cruise sounds great, but I don't think that it's going to happen in 2007.

See Here for likely plans for 2007.

hm, well, it seems that part of last year's contingent have decided to stay at home. Dang! Cos claysie's boat isn't ready. But what if i whilsted up a boat somehow, by renting one or borrowing one, hm? How bout that? It wd be jolly fun to have para, claysie, jimi and longjohnsadler along. Cept if thiv already agreed the fleetwood trip - they probly won't be able to do the earlier weekend on account of the SDP (Swmbo Demands Payback) er oops i mean, "other family committments". I think it's an either/or, for them. Also perhaps there's a clash of clans perhaps, which i don't understand between the Mcdonalds and the er burger kings. Whatever

Soo...heyho, anyone gota spare berth? I'm a definite maybe. Cos i mite be boatbuying somewhere else, not sure...but otherwise i will come. Or is it like the kerry packer thing where if you even*think* of going on the wrong cruise well huh that's that? Damn.

Great to have you along. I unreservedly retract all that stuff I said about the English.

There is a frantic exchange of PMs at the moment between the 3 skippers as they battle for the honour of inviting you to crew on their humble vessels and.. errm.. we'll let you know.

I would like to take this opportunity to assure members of this forum that LJS, Para and Muzzy are signed up for the 3 nations cruise.
Attempts to sidetrack them or press them into service on other ventures will be take a dim view of and the outlook for any miscreant with such intentions will be bleak
Message ends

Dinnae fash yersel' dear boy. I am quite sure that no-one here will try to press your crew. I, for one, learned my lesson last year.

However the OCC and 3NC will be 3 weeks apart and I see no reason why anyone who was willing and able could not do both. Could you not manage both yersel' if ye got the finger oot WRT the job list?

Is Jimi not on the 3NC then?
