Anyone having problems accessing this site?

Post by Nick »

.
Two members have contacted me via PM on TOP to say they have had problems accessing the forum over the past few days/week. One of them reported the following error message:
The connection has timed out
The server at bluemoment.co.uk is taking too long to respond.
They were using Firefox on a Mac - but had no problems using an iPad (which of course runs Safari). I can detect no problems with any browser, in either Win7 or Vista, but am interested to know if anyone else has had any issues.

When you updated the site, it looks as though the title of the index page changed. so, clicking on to the old http://www.bluemoment.com/forum.html in their favourites takes users to a 404 dead link page.

The new index page is at http://www.bluemoment.com/forum/.

I access the site on either my phone, Mobile Windows 7.5 or my lappy, IE8 on XP, sometimes as a guest, sometimes logged in.

Haven't been aware of any problem.

I have been trying for a number of days but get the message mentioned above, I assumed it was the rig wifi at fault, but now in hotel and networked, same message appeared.
Using firefox on pc with win 7

I have a direct link to the forums via bookmark.
I thought your site was down so I searched google, typing bluemoment and clicked the forum link, which got me in.

I've got both IE & Firefox. IE worked OK, but FF gave the errror above. I just deleted the shortcut from FF favourites and re-created it. Everything works fine now. I just assumed it was my FF that had got it's twickers in a nist!

I looked at this thread (using IE 8) as I could not access Bluemoment using Firefox. I went back to Firefox, changed the bookmark address and clicked. The index appeared like sh1t off a shovel.

Edit:- how did that Smilie get there? All I did was type IE 8 (eye ee eight)

Well, curiously, the old bookmark still works for me (FF and Windows XP).

I sometimes have difficulty on my Android phone getting to the posts. It seems to prefer the Amazon ad but that could be 'cos I've got big fingers!
