Which side?

Now that we all understand how sails work and balls fly, my remaining unfrazzled braincell was directed to the propwalk question.
I know, I know, it's a different proposition alltogether, but just out of idle curiosity, I put pencil to paper and had an enlightening moment.

So, the question is, which side of your hull has the most damage! AWBs that can perform double backflips in reverse need not answer.

My doodlings showed that the boat has a propensity to go to the same side regardless of which direction it is being driven.
In my case, the "dark" side is starboard, due to a prop that turns anticlockwise when in forward gear.

I did my ICC with an excellent instructor but I think he missed that point, (or I was distracted when it was mentioned).

My boat will NEVER recover if it is being blown to starboard in a confined space, yet, perhaps because I'm a left-hander, my natural instinct when faced with a "U" turn is to turn left, facing the dark side out (and at some time, probably, downwind).
This is not helped by the 'side of the road' we drive boats on, as a left "U" turn would be the norm.

Thank goodness this realisation occured today, before we take our newly re-sprayed topsides out to play amongst the rough boys. I will have to make some sort of aide-memoire for the wheelhouse - ideas welcome- a 'no left turn' sign?

No, it means I sometimes end up somewhere else altogether! Though generally I find that if I say "I've got a long keel, please can I berth port side too and into wind" marinas are only too happy to oblige, doubtless in their own interests as well as mine.

Perhaps Wully lives in a wally close? That's pretty posh. Took my East End ancestors years to get into a wally close (on Alexandra Parade).

This Willy was dragged up in a wally close.
Recent visit reveals the lack of air-raid shelters and washouses, as well as most of the iron pailings doon the dunny an' oot the back.
