TCM and Nick's unofficial skipper test - almost there....

Phew. A gruelling few months but I'm almost there.

You may have noticed how your e-leader Nick has enjoined numerous threads in TOP, essentially in the guise of Righteous Rioter, and all with the secret agenda of trying to wind me up. I saw that even Claymore cracked once or twice with "come in, it's time for your medication" but I always managed to avoid joining the threads. A key test in advance of our forthcoming transat trip, i think.

I had a similar sort of pre-departure test a couple of years ago - a crew member called just a week before we were due to leave on a transat to say he couldn't make it, and dang, oh well, darnit, heyho. Two days later he called back to say that I was so nice about him not being able to make it.... that he had re-aranged things so that he *could* make it! Canny, eh?

Are there any other tests he's likely to set, dyathink?

I think as long as you have laid out your ecopower plan for crossing big boys sea without using 1200 litres of our historical subterranean liquified forest, you ought ot be Ok.
Bit like not mentioning the war round our Prussian Euromates.

Also, you might like to consider shipping loads of Pukka Pies, which he is fond of.

Am bringing 5l special additive to convert all diesel on board to an environmentally harmless liquid, plus a special surprise from a previous Mojomo ARC crewmember. Also, I have enough false moustaches to last the trip for the entire crew.

Still got to practice cooking, that is on this week's final preparations list along with all the other final preparations and most of the not-so-final ones. Figure not looking as good in the mankini as I had hoped it would by now but as Skip would say, heyho . . . still a Greek God compared to some previous crewmembers . . .

There are no free lunches in life.

I have to say that I find blogs which add the new entry at the top of the page to be hard work when catching up. I find the http://www.znoy8.co.uk/2010/index.html style much easier.

Znoy8 is a hand-coded website. Mojomo.info uses Wordpress. There are ways of reversing the post order in Wordpress, or indeed of customising it in other ways.

I will eventually get round to setting the older transats (categories) to display posts in reverse order, as this makes more sense. I haven't got round to it yet.

The current blog will always display newest post first though as it makes it easier for followers.

I'm getting really fond of Wordpress . . . it is the only content management system I will use now. I've just finished converting what was an osCommerce site to Wordpress using an e-commerce plugin - it's looking pretty good.

Last time in there Mr Savorioni proceeded to explain how a big domestic errupted on the street after he jokingly asked a customer (who was ordering deep fried scampi for her man) if she wanted them with shells on or off and she went to ask her man.
But when it came to my turn to be served, I just asked for 2 pokes of chips, Peeled please.
He was really amused.
