Does anyone know the new phone number for North West Marine in Oban? I only have their old Tob. number.
Thanks.

Thanks that's great! I did try to Google with no luck, so problem now solved. Thanks again.

I suggest you try to fathom out how Google works. Typing in North West Marine brings it up number one after the top (Paid) entry . . . not too difficult . . .billmags wrote:Thanks that's great! I did try to Google with no luck, so problem now solved. Thanks again.

That wasn't too tricky, was it?
Of course, if you type in something like 'moorings inspection west coast' it also comes up number 1 in Google. Hardly surprising as it is a Webcraft website.

I was tempted to provide this link

but I'm far too caring and compassionate.

I'm not. I am afraid the 'tried to Google but no luck' thing got up my nose a bit and made me a little suspicious of our latest poster, as I do the NWM website and the comment could be seen as a bit of an attack on my business.Silkie wrote: . . . I'm far too caring and compassionate.
In fact North West Marine is very easy to Google under their own name with or without spaces (brings up the main page and six other pages including a page titled 'offices and locations').
If I have maligned BillMags (Age 21, semi-retired with a Moody) then I apologise, but I will defend my business reputation vigourously and it wojjldn;t be the first time some troll or other has turned up on here trying to make my life difficult.

Nick, I didn't realise that the world of website design was so Machiavellian and exciting that competitors might attempt to diss your work by posting a suggestion that one of your products doesn't leap out of a Google search - but only _after_ thanking for receiving the information that was requested.Silkie wrote:Your paranoia is showing.
I can recognise the posters from the profile and avatar (apart from the age but which of us isn't in denial?). They recently got their own mooring so it's likely that they need to have it inspected.
Personally I find Google frequently disappointing; typos are often the problem (North West Maine for instance gives a very different result) but asking the wrong question can sometimes be startling ...

The Silken one was right obviously - my paranoia is showing . . . . ten years of running a forum can do thatcpedw wrote:Nick, I didn't realise that the world of website design was so Machiavellian and exciting that competitors might attempt to diss your work by posting a suggestion that one of your products doesn't leap out of a Google search - but only _after_ thanking for receiving the information that was requested.Silkie wrote:Your paranoia is showing.

So here's a public, unreserved apology to Billmags - hopefully they will continue to post after their rude reception.
