I watched it at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre last week and it was 99% as slick and as good as a production in the ROH in London. Scottish (or Edinburgh) folk don't follow the recent English habit of enthusiastic clapping after each wee bit; they save it up for the end of each scene or act. It makes it so much better than having some preening and fawning gits milking the audience every twa minutes, ken ...
Then there's Les Ballets Trocadero de Monte Carlo, also touring and also worth a visit, once. The audience is mostly women of a certain age - its an away day from the bingo and they might huv thocht they wus watching the Chippendales. Its an all-male New York ballet group taking the pish out of Swan Lake and aforementioned preening and fawning bravura .. verra funny
