Io Va(r)do

Io Va(r)do???? Rothesay late '70's early '80's
Just been thumbing through some photos taken when I was young. We always had our holiday on the Isle of Bute and as a kid, I remember regularly seeing a yacht in Rothesay outer harbour called (I think) Io Vado (Vardo?). This was around 1980 I suppose and it was always my perfect image of a yacht. Just wondered if anyone knows it, rememners it, knows where it is now and or what type of boat she was. Maybe a long shot but perhaps someone remembers her.

Was it a white hulled wooden sloop? I vaguely recall such a boat in Rothesay with a similar name. There must be some connection, could you post a picture - perhaps scanned from your prints.

My 1972 Lloyds gives IO VADO as a K Throstrup-Hansen designed grp auxiliary sloop with a home port of Upnor. Built in 1962 she was 32' and 22.25' lwl weighing 7.34 tons.

Not the same one methinks.
