Sail Scotland hacked

Post by Nick »

.
Sail Scotland's new website has been hacked.

Sail Scotland promotes itself as 'the national trade marketing association responsible for promoting Scotland as a world class watersports destination'.

Shoot them and send their families a bill for the bullet I say. (The hackers that is, not Sail Scotland).

Still the same - surely they could at least have taken it down by now?

They had a website with nothing on most of the pages for ten years, so not much difference really.

Shouldn't this be in "Shooting the Breeze". I mean, it's really got nothing to do with the Scottish Coast.

Is that actually a suggestion? And therefore should also go in Suggestions, Comments and Bug Reports?

In fact my post is a comment on a suggestion...

Now you mention it, I've never seen Shard and the Crimson Vicar together in one place...

I've long been of the view that Shard the Crimson Vicar and Michael Jackson are all one and the same. Lets be honest, since Jackson faked his death he must be hiding somewhere. Crimson Vicar has loads of cash. Shard can moonwalk and sleeps in an oxygen tent with a monkey... It all adds up.

Let's just say that the girl behind the counter at "Brigadoon Peanut Wholesalers" is a bit of a gossip.

Stick stuff where you would normally stick it . . .

If you have a particularly newsworthy item it can go in here, but I set this up mostly for the editorial team to post interesting snippets they might come across. It was intended partly as a counterbalance to the dearth of Scottish news in the mags - in YM Scotland, Ireland, Wales and The North combined get half the space the East Coast gets, for example.

Most miscellaneous ramblings can still go in Shooting The Breeze, Passages and Places and Gear and Gadgets - just pop in here if you see an interesting headline.

Basically Boaty was originally created as a forum for users of Yotblog - it has been kept so the posts aren't lost.

The website is back up. Looking through the database it became obvious that it is still far from inclusive. In fact Sail Scotland is a membership organisation. £275 gets you a one page entry on the site and a free listing in the annual marketing brochure. The remainder goes on
3. The day to day running costs of the organisation – administration, boat show overheads etc.
Sail Scotland were awarded £65,000 from VisitScotland's Growth Fund last October.
