S. Ionian Pics

Post by Mark »

Finally got round to sorting through my pics from an Oct/Nov S. Ionian trip a couple of weeks back. Might be of interest to someone!

I bet there's a tale behind the shackles pic.

Is 7628 Kalamos?

Yeah 7628 is Episkopi, Kalamos. All right for a lunch stop with a walk up to the castle/monastry.

Yeah story to the shackle. :-) Winched up the Anchor one morning - shackle parted and off drops the Anchor. Only 3m deep but visibility too poor to find it - last time I dived at that spot I touched the bottom before I could see it.

We weren't prepared to spend all day feeling round sludge so we left it for future archeologists to find.

I got a pic of the shackle on the Kedge to compare to the shackle on the main anchor which had parted.

2 anchors lost this year and still a month and a half to lose a third! :-)
