The word Scandium probably hadn't crossed my mind for thirty years 'til last week. Then I spent Saturday night in one of the west coast's most popular anchorages and guess what one of the other three boats was called.

And yes, she was a Scanmar and a fine-looking vessel too. Unusually, her owner accepted my invitation for a nightcap aboard Silkie (more often than not they take one look at 22ft of slim-hulled elegance and insist that I come aboard with them) so I didn't get to see more.
