Sorry to post this here but what will happen to car number plates after 09?

Mine will still be Y 123 ABC, or similar.

we have 05 then 55 etc
once we've gone beyond 95 - what happens?

Sorry for now putting this in clearer format but then again - if I had, the great unwashed would not have had a chance to shine.... :D

The current numbers will last up to 49 / 99. I think the idea is to then swap over the first and last letter groups and have another 50 years worth of 50, 00, etc. in the middle, . Statistically, I don't suppose too many of us will be around to see it...

Meantime, I'm not into this new-fangled notation. My number plate starts with H959---.

Yes, they're great motors - they just keep going. I think that my current one has done about 324,000 miles so far. (Calculated from petrol receipts - the mile clock stopped 3 years ago :oops: )
