It is the Bali Ha'i island from the film South Pacific. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81NROmUb7o0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Es Vedra to the south of Ibiza Sahona's pic is the most common view, mine was taken from north of the island. The island was used for the pic shots of Bali Ha'i in South Pacific, we considered using the anchorage there but in the wind direction that night it would probably been a bit dodgy. Thought you would have got that Sliced Sausage as the view from your balcony, then you would not have seen it for the thunderstorms!!!

Enjoyed the sailing (motoring) in Majorca and Ibiza with its calas to anchor in but mainland Spain was not as hospitable and at €50 a night in marinas for a 39 footer was a no no! Also noticed a major change in water temp 29c in Ibiza and Calpe on mainland which reduced to 19c as we got to Benelmadena no doubt the Atlantic coming in.

Sahona when I think of it with your nom de plume you should be familiar with Es Vedra as you can see it from Cala Sahona in Formentera.
Is that the reason for choice of name? I have stayed at the hotel there but thankfully not this last week but will leave Sliced Sausage to tell you that story. :)

For the sake of accuracy, there is no H in Cala Saona :)

Thats spanish for you, the "H" is spoken but does not appear, the sun is spoken about but is eaquily absent, I suspected that this was the case and spent the last 10 days ensuring that I was correct.

There was deffinatly no "F" in sun and no "H" in Saona.

Thank goodness I was there the week before.

Think it will be Portavadie in the morning. Forecast looking okish. No point in going to bed now as would be a shame to wake me from me slumbers. Otherwise I will live up to my other name Prince of Darkness.

There was an "H" in Sahona when we were there (Navicarte - French spelling?) :?
Yes that's why the boat is so named - a favourite place.
My avatar is from the little beach bar half way up the hill to the South of your hotel, known to the Alicante gang as 'Base Camp'.
