Sydney-Hobart

Post by Silkie »

Not made for a sailing audience and using lots of library footage, CGI, re-enactments and with all the repetitions necessitated by the broadcasters' assessment of the attention span of the audience... but for all that I enjoyed this account of the 1998 race, Hell on High Water. You can find the other parts yourselves, I'm sure, if you're interested.

Read the book Fatal Storm and was hanging of the edge of the chair although the first third of the book was a little boring the rest certainly made up for it.

Yeah, really enjoyed "Fatal Storm" and Bob Fisher's account of the '79 Fastnet which is in a similar vein. (Imaginatively titled "The Fastnet Disaster and After".) Just goes to show that he who traipses round charity shops will be rewarded.
