Seen a swallow today in Lancashire, a bit earlier than past few years, hope its another sign of a good summer.
Just a single one, which will most probably be a male, they come first and often singly at first.

Swallows are back
We can't change the direction of the wind, but we can adjust our sails.

Seen some in Rothesay dock last wk, one of the guys there reckons they were a bit early, he also says they come every year and are nesting in the walls of the dock.
Always find it fantastic how precise and fast they can scoop up insects from the water surface and from mid air.
Lovely to see them again.

Re: Swallows are back
If the swallows eat all the frogs' spawn, does that kill the prospect of a half decent summer?
