Bill, you should get it taped together with duct tape now before it gets any worse, as it will mean you can get a new glass fitted accuratly if you can keep the original shape, and the glass isent split out to the edges.
Ensure all the cracks/splits are butting together while you are taping it. Does this make since to you?
Incidently there is a place called Kelvin coach trimmers at Anniesland cross will do it for you, a lot cheaper than the marine folk.

Thanks for all that good info Eamonn.
Kelvin don't appear to have a web-site, but I'll give them a ring.
If it works, it will save a lot of hassle as I'm looking down south for suppliers at the moment.

Bill
You can get clear tape for mending poly-tunnels which works a treat - isn't it funny how you realise its going to crack the second it cracks and not a moment before.....

Perhaps funny was not the best word. Claymore's cover has a number of similar cracks all created on frosty mornings and whilst coincidental is perhaps a bit dry and doesn't really communicate what I was trying to get across, on reflection, funny was a poor choice. I do hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me...
Oh dear, what a day. I knew it would all go wrong when Dear Heart decided to introduce quinoa and pumpkin seeds into my porridge - before you know it, I've upset NICK and he won't budge, doesn't see that there was anything humorous in what I wrote and now I've upset the only forum member with good taste in yats - apart from my good self. Actually, thats not quite true either as I did upset myself over the porridge. Tomorrow, I shall try to just point out that I think Scotts make an excellent brew that really cannot be improved beyond the inclusion of a few raisins. This would demonstrate a more mature approach to tipping it into the hen-bucket and stomping off - which I really am ashamed of and will probably have to go resort to self catering for the forseeable future....

Don't take it to heart, and try maple-slurp instead of raisins in the breakfast gunge.
thanks for the polytunnel hint. I've discovered Tapes Direct who supply the goodies.
A useful addition to any bosun's bag I think.

The solution to this problem is simple.
Buy a boat that does not have a greenhouse attached to the top.

Bill, Kelvin CT's, 0141 434 0063, speak to Mick or Tony Doyle.
Directions, as he wont pick up, North from Clyde tunnel, Anniesland X, up switchback for aprox 500yrds, take first right at lights, T junction go right, and first left, its then on the right hand side next to a tool hire yard.
You cant go back on to the switchback rd the way you went in as its one way, so go left when leaving KCT's.

Thanks Eamonn, being a Hyndland boy, I know exactly where you are with the directions - I'll just nick up behind Barr & Stroud, shouldn't be far from there.  .
