Did Peary do it?

Post by Windfinder »

Always up to date with the latest hot topic, I'm wondering today if Peary got to the pole, or not.

Frankly, I'm reckon he didn't. There seems some circumstantial evidence that he didn't get there and knew that he didn't. However, even if he thought he was there fair and square, with a position worked out on paper from sights & without an Admundsen style sweep of the area how could he be sure he was anywhere near the pole?

I'd vote for no.

What do you think?

And I think you are wrong. If you google did peary get to the pole you will find that quite a few people are moderately interested.

You are feeling a little negative today, aren't you? This isn't that sort of forum.

Peary was weary with eyes that were bleary
When he arrived at the Pole
His dogs were all tired so his gun he then fired
And ate them with all heart and soul.

Now the question was whether he managed the weather
And found his way off to the pole
But the answer uncertain as down came the curtain
And he paid with his life for the toll.

Of course he did...

LOL. FLawless logic - you're right and I'm wrong.

In other news when I was a kid a bloke in our village told me off for putting a rock in a skip.

I heard he died last year.

That'll show him.
