Imagine being so bored and short of company that you'd actually invite both RandyMandy and Georgy-O to dinner on your boat! And then that Big Girl's Blouse Rothschild...... I suspect he'll be a bit short of party invitations this Christmas.
And while we're on the subject of 'tapping-up', I notice that Senator McCain has invited the Russian Ambassador to chip in to his campaign costs this week, see here......

I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if'n The Lord of Darkness hadn't connived at and created this shenanigans.
No money ( apparently ) was donated and/or received. This is a good season for attempts to draw our attention away from the central issues of the moment - the near-collapse of our financial system on Paw Broon's watch.
This is just political flummery, and if Osborne keeps his nerve and his counsel, he'll get away with whatever it was. However, there's no way that NuLabor are going to get away with what they've been up to - or failed to get up to.
....And that's not party-political. That's dissatisfaction with the whole bunch of wasters and toerags.

Not even he could have planned it this well. Osborne has been the architect of his own undoing - he breached "the code".bilbo wrote:I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if'n The Lord of Darkness hadn't connived at and created this shenanigans.
Mandelson, and his pal Osborne had been doing the social rounds, sharing political gossip and intrigue, and slagging off their own party leaders. Hence Mandy's rage when his return to government was spoiled by George revealing private dinner table gossip, to the effect that Mandy had "dripped pure poison" about his, by now, new best friend Gordon.
Now that was probably a bit of a mistake; Mandelson may be many things, but he is not generally seen as a soft mark. Mandelson is not daft either and was probably smart enough to know what his three Tory chums were up to with the Russian oligarch.
So he leans on mutual friend Nat Rothschild, who was also present during (at least) some of these indiscretions; despite his party allegiance and friendship with George, Nat values discretion, hence George is is left up Excrement Creek without the proverbial paddle. Meanwhile Nat says he's prepared to testify in court... Marvellous stuff. Everyday story of simple Westminster villagers imho.
Despite despair at some of Gordy's activities and inaction, you don't for a minute think that Dave and Georgy would have had the nerve or the wit to provide the financial support package that the government has provided?
Dave and Georgy are old-fashioned public-school, non-interventionist, free marketeers at heart and, as demonstrated with Russiagate, are dishonorable, untrustworthy, self-centred amateurs. We are all doomed if this lot of Tories get their hands on power.
There's a long time to go to the next election and it's great to see the Tories' complacency rocked and a glimmer of hope that they don't get into Downing St.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -
ALL politicians are like bananas -
When they are young and immature, they're green.
As they mature, they turn yellow.
And there's not a straight one amongst them!

Politics - Comes from the Greek, Poly, meaning many, and ticks are blood-sucking creatures!
