Dear Spammer

Post by Silkie »

In my new capacity as Temporary Acting Administrator (Second Class) I am thoroughly enjoying deleting you and your links to dodgy pharmaceutical suppliers, Google ads platforms, third-rate porn link sites and cut-and-paste gibberish.

If I might make one request.

Rather than you all visiting 2 or 3 times a week to create a single new log-in, why not visit once a week and do 2 or 3 at a time? Tuesday would be good for me. Since it only takes a few seconds more to delete 20 of your IDs than it does to delete 2 it would greatly ease the administrative burden if I could deal with you all at once, perhaps on Wednesday mornings.

Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Dave

A couple of other forums I'm on employ tactics to foil the spammers.

The norfolk broads one you have to get your first two posts authorised before they show. I supose this is only a slow down tactic but it could help a bit.

The dating site I'm on you can't post on the forums for 3 days, you can go stalking the young ladies but not join in the forums. Also the auto filters delete accounts with certain words in like"russia, nigeria, bank details", and lots more. That includes accounts of folk who send email/IM's with trigger words in too.

Then again I suppose you have tried some of these, TTFN, I prommised to teach my granny a certain technique involving eggs.
Seminole.
Cheers Bob.

Stuff Wanted spam trap - now pruning after three days

Post by Nick »

This 'stuff wanted' forum will automatically remove any topics that have not had a reply in three days. :chalk:

If you are really looking for stuff we suggest you post in a different forum - this is just a spam trap :fishing: for automated postings.

Hopefully Silkie and I will keep deleting posters on a regular basis though to avoid all the medication and sex related links :puke: appearing - but this will keep the list of 'DELETED' posts down to a more sensible number.
