Baltic or S.Ireland?
Anyone have any tips on either of the above, regarding moorings/areas?

The sailing clubs in Ireland would be able to advise. Many of them have moorings, and, in some, pontoons. Depends on your intended location, but I guess searching for, and contacting, the Irish clubs would be worthwhile.
Don't know about the Baltic, other than the Cruising Association having a strong Baltic Section.

If I can find the courage and the confidence for the long crossing then I fancy going to Copenhagen and round the Danish Islands and next year.little boy blue wrote:how would you intend to enter the baltic - kategatt or keil canal ?
I'm thinking of going in through Limfjord, northern Denmark entering at Thyboren.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get across the North Sea (yes, I know, by boat)
Its about 380 nms from the Forth to Denmark or I could go up to Peterhead,110nms,and then about 250nms to Stavanger then 150nms down to Denmark a total of 510nms, seems a bit of a trek, but shorter crossing.
