A warning about this weekends forecast...

Post by weatherman »

Hi everyone,

Having seen some of the postings about the confusion over the weekend forecasts, this is one of those where you should be very, very careful trusting content on websites which are using only model output.

The situation this weekend is a classic one for the models to over 'smooth' wind speeds and therefore they could show speeds significantly below those expected.

You should be checking out the Shipping Forecast and Inshore Waters forecasts (oh and of course Weatherweb.TV). These are the ONLY FORECASTS TO TRUST IN THIS SITUATION. Conditions, especially in the southwest could be very dangerous and you should believe the 'worst case' forecasts, not those that deliver the forecast you want to hear :)

Hope you don't think I'm teaching granny hear and apologies if this message is a little condescending.

Despite that, have fun !

Thanks for that.

I'll be out this weekend, but in the shelter of the Solent.

Hopefully see some big speeds.
