Not only was I first to post on this fourm, I'm going to be second as well. . . .
I've just downloaded the pdf shipping forecast areas and map from the RYA website. Can someone please explain all the numbers on the map? They seem to be in groups of 2 - for example, off Peterhead there is 5 over 13, while away out to the west in Rockall, there is 9 over 13.
I couldn't find an explanation on the RYA site, but it may be there somewhere!

The numbers relate to sea temperatures in March and September (I think).
