Biting Bullets after tough decisions
Decided to take advantage of the year out and paint the grey bits which are looking a bit tired and do a bit of flexiteeking.
The problem is that if I do paint the decks, I would prefer them to be a sort of off-white/creamy colour.
Wid tha' clash wi yon GREY spinnaker?

Hm. I don't much like the notion of painted decks. I think you wd be far better off using two-part GRP restorer, like that stuff from wessex chemicl factors, and which makes the GRP look brand spanky new.claymore wrote:Decided to take advantage of the year out and paint the grey bits which are looking a bit tired and do a bit of flexiteeking.

Colourwise, i think all will be fine, regardless.
Cobblers. Polish just seals the oxidised cack that is there already. The wessex gear is highly recommended. Tell swmbo you need to spend £100 on a decent stripper.claymore wrote:Hmm
Well, Ive polished the fibreglass so much I think the pigment is wearing a little thin - it also goes very flat quite quickly - it would save a hell of a job if I didn't need to paint it but the grey does look quite "60's" - especially on the odd dull day.

Why not just be done with it and go for a nice warm cream colour - would be chust the very job. In fact, you could have a word with the boys on Her Maj's auxiliary ships - aren't her tugs cream? Mind you, are they still looking for the consignment of battleship grey?claymore wrote:I would prefer them to be a sort of off-white/creamy colour.
