To anyone sailing a GRP boat in Scottish waters these are not likely to be a problem but after reading about them for years I was fascinated to see some today in a museum in St Andrews Uni, pickled along with a bit of oak keel.

i hope you were there to protest about the gatty marine research institute being involved in research for the japanese whaling industry :irony:

saw a brief report to that effect in the herald about a week ago. since they had been rumbled some beak said they would look to possibility of re-assessing their sources of finance.
there has been no follow up or public outcry that i am aware of.
