Catastrophe

Post by claymore »

Readers may be aware of my dislike of Danelandia and how, when incarcerated there, I regularly turn to the Oban North Pier Webcam for solace.
Dear Heart and I are just returned from the Land of Perpetual Underwhelmingness which for me has been more underwhelming than usual as the fekkin Oban fekkin webfekkingcam is not working and so I have been denied my daily view of the waterfront I dearly love.
This has been a traumatic experience and I feel I might seek compensation. Clearly money is irrelevant but I was wondering whether the Oban Tourist board might treat me to some refreshments.....

I too have been missing it, despite its annoying panning feature which means that you have to wait about 3 minutes while watching cars splashing through puddles in the car park, or windswept tourists wandering forlornly around the pier, to get an all-too-brief view of the pontoons.
It does seem to have been 'down' for some time now - perhaps someone forgot to pay the Streamdays bill.

In the meantime I have resorted to these alternative Oban views:

A nice pan around the bay from Greystones
https://camsecure.co.uk/oban%20bay%20webcam.html

A fixed view from the Crerar Hotel

Thanks for the links. We're at home in Greenock just now but Aja is on one of the moorings at the Sailing Club.

Due to get a bit windy over the next couple of days so can keep an eye on her.

Back up on Sunday. Want any photos taken, Claysie?

Well - a bit of video would be nice Donald - will yourself and Sheena be on it?

Sheena now not looking her very best due to Covid.

Hopefully fit to travel soon. You'll just have to wait for the photos.

You are most obviously devoid of civilised taste and reason if you don’t like Denmark.

This diagnosis is confirmed by your confession of binge watching the Oban web cam.

To prevent any farther deterioration in your condition I requested the cooncil to block you IP from accessing it until a suitable course of treatment can be found.
