Western Ferries Prices - Cost Saving

Post by BlowingOldBoots »

I travel up from South Lanarkshire to Craobh, M74, M8, Erskine Bridge, A82, A83, A816. On a good day, 2 hours 45 minutes, usually 3 hours. If travel day is a bank holiday, or I am just wanting a change, I travel via Western Ferries to bypass the Loch Lomond leg of this rout, the A82. Timing to/from home and boat is 3 hours, hence it is time neutral for me. Western Ferries also have a very frequent schedule that starts early and ends late. Absolutely no inconvenience using the ferry and a welcome break in the drive.

The cost if bought on the ferry is £18 one way for car and driver. I ordered a book of 10 tickets today for car and driver and cost is £9.80, one way. I will now use the rout in preference to the Loch Lomond leg. I ordered the booklet of tickets direct from Western Ferries, will take a few days to arrive. They can also be bought from local stores at both ends of the crossing.

Hope this helps for anyone driving up from the south.
