Claysie's abdication as Cruise Director : Rejected

Post by tcm »

I don't really think Claysie is able to resign the position of Cruise Director just like that. in fact, i don't think he can abdicate the position at all.

I mean, it's not like a conventioanl boaty job like helm or chef where if you fail to steer the boat or make food you're obviously replaced. By contrast, the Cruise Director is more like being a deity, really, where His performance is irrelevant, like last time when claysie went for a kip whilst other people sailed the boat. In fact, he didn't do any actual directing at all as far as i could see, and nor did he have any means of enforcing his authority such as having a gun to shoot webcraft when he started getting uppity.

Thus, just like an ethereal higher being, claysie will be Cruise Director even if he can't make it, and everyone else will have to shamble along vaguely disorganised on the cruise as they do in life, with neither the cruise director nor any other deity having much effect on the proceedings at all, but everyone deferring to him just in case he sends a message or a sign of vital importance, which deities almost never ever do, but we can all feel just a bit more secure that Claysie will be watching over us, or more likely sleeping in mysterious ways.

Ok
I'll not abdicate - that's twice I've failed in a matter of a few days.

I have to inform you all that of course as a deity in my own right, just like his papalship - you will have to kiss my ring.
