I understand this forum is only for saily peeps and anyone who even thinks mobo's a quite good sometimes (but not always) is NOT welcome.

Is is more silly moderation? I think mobo's such as lifeboats are extremely good. Other mobo's are also good, for fishing and whizzing ashore as per dinghy, esp if you get 15hp and wham it up the beach.

Ah well. Oh, and if anyone was wunderin, i am back on t'boat in guadeloupe on friday, bound for st martin and then azores in may. I was thinking about doing a long blog thing but yerknow, get some pix of the caribee, then add some text about we went here and then there and then lost/found/bought this and met some other people, usual stuff.

tcm saily peep?

Post by damo »

But you've got a saily boat, well, 2 stuck together I believe. And there is at least one recent visitor who has a mobo. And I drove a dory with a 15hp ob yesterday. And I did my PB2 in December.

Mobos are OK per se, it's wash and rich snobby owners I hate, but you get that with ignorant yotties as well. But pwc owners should be shot IMHO .

Hope you are having a lovely time - I was going to go sailing in the morning but there's NO WIND here! :(

pwcs etc

Post by tcm »

hi damo. Yes, you are quite right i have a cat, altho on occassions i hav lusted after 2x 500hp instead of poxy 54hp each side.

Also, altho i haven't got a pwc, i don't hav problems with others having their own fun that i don't enjoy, whether it's skydiving or freeclimbing or deep-water scuba diving in shark-infested waters, or knitting, speedwalking, avid football supporting incl going to the match every week, going to rugby matches instead of watching them on the telly as well, likewise motor racing, or taking part in dinghy racing, hot air balloons, caravanning, truck racing, dog racing, horse racing, horses, tropical fish, model trains, using ebay, antiques, golf, american football and lots more.

Yep, if they affect me, well, that would get on my nerves altho pwcs don't very much and i have been helped out by pwc on more than one occasion too.

It is unfortunate if part of your enjoyment of an activity is that it *excludes* that other lot over there.

I wonder if praps webcraft was bullied at school, and didn't have a gang, or the gang he wanted to join wouldn't let him in, hm?

Whereas i did have a gang, which involved running around a lot for no reason really, just being a gang, and anyone who wanted could join after a bit of hemming and hawing to make it seem a big deal that we let them join. Like passwords on a forum. So of course soon my gang was very large indeed and nobody felt bad.

Sailingwise, i think webby shd ease off about the requirement for *just* sailing and not mobo's, esp as most sailnboats have engines and puttem on when the sailing is a bit ooer hard like in and out of port. It's a sailing forum, so mostly, peope with saily boats will join. Raising unec bans will surely drive people away. Or maybe that's the idea? I certainly don't feel like hanging around here too much at the moment, really, with the site owner/moderator e-glaring at me for not hating mobos. Heyho.

um, there wasn't an anti-mobo air about the place last time so if it's like that then I wd love to come along. BUT if webby is gonna be promoted Virtual Cruise Director with accompanying Newthink powers that he seems to require hereabouts then hm, maybe not.

So, a condition of me coming along is that we can ignore webby's suggestions, sometimes. Like last time when he wanted to go to another marina and so claysie decided we shd go to Ardfern, partly cos it was nice and partly to piss him off.

Well, I'm going to get in a boat with sails and use them to get across t'atlantic, like the w-e nine months ago, and again e-w three months ago. I might very well use an engine if there is no wind or not enough to maintain 5 knots ish, esp if crew have deadlines and other things to get on with at home, cos it will mean we can still make progress, rathetr than pander to stay-at-home theoreticians who like everyone else to do things according to their own ideals, even tho they wouldn't do those things at all. In the same way way, I definitely *won't* be droning on about it beforehand with massive trumpety blog and then er not go at all, see?

Is there a "stick that in your pipe and smoke it" emoticon?
