Firstly, apologies to those who also use the YBW Scuttlebutt forum - hope its OK to post in both places. If not I'm sure you'll let me know!
Looking for a cheap option for keeping the boat this summer. Anyone not using their mooring or can recommend a cheap location on the Clyde/ West coast of Scotland south of Ardnamurchan ashore/ afloat?
Boat is just 2.5 gross tonnes and 27'.

Cheap Clyde moorings
It's a long time ago, but we launched at Dumbarton & rented a mooring off the boatyard (Robertsons?) under the Ballantynes distillery (smelled gorgeous). But Ballantines has been pulled down & boatyard may have gone!
We then chose Rothsay inner harbour as a good low cost solution. It was cheap enough to leave car at Wemyss Bay and cross on Ferry as foot passengers. Again, they have been "improving" the harbour with blinkin' pontoons & rubbish like that. Locals will probably lay a mooring in Kames Bay for you for a few quid.
But, as I said, it was a long time ago - about 20 years.

Hi Woodend
.
Welcome to BlueMoment . . . and don't worry about posting on here and on YBW, we all so. Some of us have different IDs on here, and some of us the same - it doesn't matter.
As you probably know we have a Vega as well, although we won't be bringing her on the Clyde weekend as we have berths aboard another splendid vessel for the duration. We look forward to seeing you and your Vega at Cumbrae though. What is her name and sail number?
We will keep our ears open for any cheap moorings up in this nexk of the woods (Seil Island / Oban) and let you know if we hear of anything.
