This is a précis of possible outcomes due to global warming.
The author summarizes various outcomes for temperature bands of warming based on scientific literature.
He does not quote the literature but instead discusses the possible issues in layman terms for: economy, society, food supply, migration, water, wild fires, environment and ecology, storms, hurricanes and tornadoes and good old seawater level rises.
At each temperature band it gets shittier, unsurprisingly. He makes the case for the impacts being felt now, why there is no real progress to actually meet the CO2 targets.
It is a very interesting read and if I had to summarize it succinctly: brace for impact because we are really not dealing with CO2 reduction. If you live low to the sea and intend to pass on this home as inheritance, I wouldn’t bother, sell now.
What is sad is that we have both the technology and capability to manage CO2 reduction, stabilization or limit the rate of increase, but choose not to. We also can afford to do it, but again choose not to.
I got it as an audio book to listen to driving up and down to the boat.
