Warning - blatant advertising . . .
I spent quite a bit of time and money with a lead generating service in November and December and passed many happy days on the 'phone or preparing detailed tenders, with some success. However, a review of new clients over the last quarter of 2007 shows that 50% were walk-ins through word of mouth or search engine enquiries. These latter cost us nothing and came with a positive attitude, wheras the time and expenditure on the generated leads turns out to represent an unacceptable percentage of the final invoice.So - we are actively seeking - in particular - new clients requiring sailing-related sites, because this is what we most enjoy doing - but we also have great success with holiday property sites and have in fact created websites for almost every sector of industry over the last twelve years.
When I say 'do best' I don't necessarily mean the swishest design or the latest web technologies - I am talking in terms of return on your investment. This means an effective standards-compliant site which brings in traffic and is found easily using relevant search terms. That is what we do best - better, in fact, than most expensive 'search engine optimisation' services. If your website doesn't pay for itself in six months then it was a waste of money.
Most of our clients can realistically expect to be on p1 of Google for their chosen search terms within three months of the site going live.
Nothing else is as important as this for the majority of businesses.
