Is there no some auld saying aboot the nichts gettin longer an the frost gettin stronger, or has global warming put the hems on that?

I was plotting the 'northing' of the sunset with the sextant horizontal against a neighbours chimney ( just because I'm that kind of a guy, and was interested in the earliest sunset being the 12th Dec), and everything was going well, then it disappeared and we haven't seen it for days.
Now considering building a small wind-powered water pump to fit in the hard tender, seems a more appropriate project. Don't see the boat being up to "fine trum" level for a while....

We've had the use of a lovely orange ball in the sky this weekend, could it be the one you recently lost? I'll send it back oop north when I'm finished with it, if you like. But that may be a while off yet.
