Three Cheers for BlueMoment

Post by Silkie »

What a great (if under-used) forum!

The michael is (gently) taken, insults are (politely) traded and high horses are (occasionally) climbed on but there's never been any real bad blood. Will all this change with the recent huge influx of riff-raff from elsewhere? :)

I too was dismayed by the crude moderating on that other forum a couple of days ago. I can't speak for all the other threads since my Afrikaans (why was Jaapie corner allowed to remain?) is even worse than my Welsh and I didn't read all of the English ones either. Claymore's original Scots Corner thread however, seemed to me to be a quintessentially SB thread; shipmates chewing the fat about past and future cruising interspersed with demands for more malt whisky! I considered starting a thread entitled "FFS Keith" but bottled out.

I've (nearly) always been a sensible sort of a lad.

. the removal of the Compensation thread because of a complaint about bestiality involving the Prime Minister must be the most ludicrous peice of moderation I've ever seen .. whilst insults and abuse remain. I won't be back there for a while.

Yes, complete nonsense. And it all happened such a long time ago.

Yes, with apologies for the delay.

It hardly counts as a day sail though since the mileage didn't make it into double figures. It will contain the highly entertaining "Fairwinds' Marina Moment" (slightly concerned about libel issues on this one) and the equally amusing "Silkie's Tiller Tale."

Well worth waiting for as I'm sure you'll eventually agree.
