First chance to log on for a while - in an internet cafe in Kirkwall.
Next time I log on I expect to see a few more threads started here - Silkie and Shard, go and drag some others over here and get them posting . . .
Looking forward to reading about the Rathlin trip when it isn't costing me 10p a minute . . .
(Broadband should be happening on Seil when we get back - it had better - even Westray is getting it . . .)
Don't stop using this board just because I'm away . . .

Kirkwall
Hi Nick - pleased to hear you made Kirkwall, although I hear from you elsewhere that it's peeing down. Well, as usual, the west coats is basking in sunshine, pleasantly warm with the mildly cooling effect of a F3/4.

Not another multiple posting . . .
Just been given a mini-tour of Kirkwall and surroundings by Geordie (orion21) who also very kindly took me to get gas and diesel. Had a look at his boat as well - a very nice Trapper 300.
Blog is now (almost) up to date - as far as reaching here anyway - see it HERE
Probably off to Shapinsay tomorrow - a terrifying death defying trip of some three miles . . . then Stronsay and Sanday, maybe North Ronaldsay and back to Pierrowall for the Westray Regatta next weekend.
Watch this space . . .

Sorry to hear you had to abandon plans for Shetland but I'm sure it was the right decision. "We sail for pleasure!" - Peter Pye - as I'm fond of quoting.
