I see they have arrived in Les Sables D'Orlonne an are presumably enjoying a well-deserved coup de vin or deux . . .
Now perhaps TCM will switch off that infernal machine he has been using to manipulate the Azores High and the weather will get back to normal round these parts.
Does anyone know how many hours both engines were OFF on Mojomo during the trip?
Mojomo
engine hours
A disgraceful 250 engine hours I believe, over 10 days out of 21 days at sea. I think perhaps i wrote and wittered more whilst the engine was on in calm seas. By contrast not much happened other than sailing when wind was up- clung on to the wheel as the mad sailing contraption hurled itself along. I *suppose* that given the thing will sail at 7knots in light winds and at ten knots into wind even just 40degrees off true 20knots ...then anything under 5knots means heyho, this isn't sailing - we'll put the engine on. We could have sailed a lot more, but it would have been at grindingly low speeds.
I won't be using the transponder thingie again - far too much hassle and some watched it minute by minute...then para wanted to charge up another gizmo and -horrors- we disappeared from the map.
