So I went down to the boat for a wee sail and to check it over while there was rather less weather yesterday, and to my surprise the transom was looking rather barer than usual. The outboard raised on it's bracket was fine but the rudder had pulled the bolts through the plate of the lower pintle and was AWOL. I assume that it caught on something in during the big waves we've had over the last 2 weeks since I last was on board and that's pulled it out, but not sure
Anyone know if a fibreglass (but full of something I think) rudder will float or not? Or alternatively if anyone has seen one on a beach near oban or knows of any for sale?
