This is a recommendation based on my satisfaction with work they have done for me, no other motive other than to encourage the maintenance of specialized local facilities. I hope it might be useful.
Ross Weir has a small but very well equipped and competent engineering workshop beside Lock 3 in Ardrishag. He is a retired marine engineer with a background before that in toolmaking and is doing work these days for most of the local boatyards. His machinery is second hand but impressive in its capacity so if you need something boring, turning or replicating he is worth talking to. In addition to marine work so is tackling work for forestry, fish farms, etc. Have a look at his website.
