Noted Marisca at Gourock on Sunday, after a long absence overseas somewhere.
The old man returns from the sea.

Thanks Geoff. Finally got her home after WHYW. Saturday afternoon sail from Oban to Gigha - had a couple of reefs in - a ridiculously early morning Sunday start, a lumpy MoK and then a long motor to catch the 1800 bus outside the clubhouse. It was nice to have the boat to myself after WHYW, so much more space and only myself to moan at.

Re: Welcome home Marisca
We came into Gorouck Sunday afternoon/evening, and only saw your dinghy as we were going ashore. We'd gone out Friday night, overnighted in West bay Dunoon (quieter and no ferry wash), started a race Kip to Tarbert, round Garroch Head, to find it blowing a hooley on the nose, with a sea running. Crew got a bit seasick, and we calculated we could not finish by the closing time, so turned round at about Inchmarnock, and ran downwind, 2 reefs in main and a scrap of foresail, and managed 7 knots, 8kn down the hills. Anchored at Little Cumbrae, then next day was really nice for a leisurely sail home.
Geoff.
