New Owners at Oban Marina 28 February 2017

Dear All

It is a pleasure to introduce ourselves as the new Owners / Directors of Oban Marina.

Firstly; we’d like to thank all of you for your forbearance and understanding over the past few months. It has, understandably, been unsettling not knowing the future of the marina, we really do appreciate your patience.

Rest assured it is our intention to keep the marina in Oban. We are committed to you our customers, to the community we work in and to the marina itself. We also realize that there have been many promises made, and a number of false dawns. With this in mind we will be careful not to over promise, but to work hard on gradual improvement and to listen to you, our customers. Your new Management Team are all sailors, this allows us to truly appreciate how precious your time on the water is, and how important it is to know your boat is safe, secure & berthed where “she” will be tended to and looked after.

We will be writing to our Berth Holders shortly to introduce ourselves, and explain further some of our hopes for 2017 and beyond.

We look forward to welcoming you at Oban Marina

Well - it was quite late when I posted and my thought processes had been improved by a couple of wee goldies and I had interpreted Nick's post to be joking that I had bought the marina and had immediately banned Bob, this being a traditional sport for marinas on the west coast, hence my remark suggesting that he (Nick) hadn't been fooled by my use of the pseudonyms Gary Adams & Catherine Peat. Simples!

It does seem a trifle far-fetched in the cold light of day and I guess we'll need to call on Nick to explain what he actually meant by

I love that Byzantine explanation, but sadly I wasn't being that clever.

Bob told me he.was unable to post on here because he was banned. I did think he was probably winding me up. I shall, of course, ban him for it.

Currently berthed in Kerrera, and really quite impressed by the restauarant side of things. Fair prices given they potentially have a captive audience to exploit, and food was excellent.
It's a little hard to spot our 26ft boat amongst all the bigger yachts,though
