Sheep Shank

Post by jim.r »

Is this a culinary delight or an apt description of Silkie?

In an attempt (probably vain) to get this board back to sailing and away from Fanny Craddock's cookbook may I ask a question:

Has anyone ever tied a sheep shank in anger?

We all know its to shorten a rope but is it of any real use?

Well, I did use one once to to get round a badly frayed area on a mooring line that I couldn't cut. Mind you, that was once in about 45 years of sailing.........

Cheers,

Alister.
