I'm looking into one but have never used this model, any feedback?
Steve
Has any one used the Holland Windvane?

If I gave you my full honest opinion of Hydrovane Steve it would read like a sales brochure! I'm about to fit one to my new (old) boat. Expensive, but after 9 years with my first Hydrovane I didn't even consider any other type.
There are no control lines or lanyards to adjust, part/stretch, just well engineered meshed gears and in 9 years all I had to replace was the nylon windvane cover which the sun in the Med: killed (after 5 years )
In short, expensive, but bullet-proof and an email from Kalamata in Greece to the lady in Vancouver Canada who looks after spares/service dept: brought me a new vane cover in 3 days.

Seconded. you can make spare covers from ripstop spinny cloth and use tape for minor repairs. Keep a couple of control knobs in the box if you're in marinas with careless neighbours. Superb, just goes on and on.
http://trooncruisingclub.org/ 20' - 30' Berths available, Clyde.
Cruising, racing, maintenance facilities. Go take a look, you know you want to.
