That must be why it's brightly lit then. Do not confuse it with the Heads of Ayr, which is of course a sewage treatment works.
Is Ailsa Craig lit?I wouldn't want to bump into it.

Below decks we often refer to them as rankers....
Again, I hope that helps

You seem to have studiously ignored the "R" which your initial post urged should not be treated so!
I would be pleased to wave you off .... after a few night caps in the local hostelries, of course.
Whilst there is a certain merit to this suggestion, as I appear to not know the difference between left and right in my original post, would this be wise?

In my defence, I was sitting at an aft facing keyboard.

I think you'll be lucky to get away at all now. Once the Cowes Week Mob read of your skills in voyage planning, they will shanghai you as their race planning admiral..

If you come across a lot of lights ahead of you and chance upon a harbour guarded by a lighthouse shaped lika woman holding a book you MAY have missed Ireland.

That's happened to me the last time the skipper let me navigate.

But they do have better toilets than Lamlash.

Not at all - towing my Delta to Inverkip I used to think that 25mph on the M6 was a damned sight better than doing 5 knots across the Irish sea for days on end - and you can get lovely coffee at Tebay.

Not defeatist, but a bit dangerous. at 103kn you may lose your licence - we have average speed traps up here. Also, what would happen if you picked up a stag on the propshaft...and the carbon, the carbon - wipe yer feet before you come in.

Jeez, this thread is fast (no not Coates colourfast)
