Just in case there is any doubt, this lady is my Debutante, 21ft of wood and glue, just not sure about the proportions

And a few weeks ago the pics were updated, now dry enough to paint and float away

You may notice the mobo hiding in the corner of the first pic

.
Looks like she may be a nice little lady Dave.

What dens of iniquity will you be taking her to when she is in the water?

Debs have a great track record. They have crossed the Atlantic and of course the legendary Tristan Jones made the Debutante class famous by achieving the 'vertical sailing record of the world' in his Deb. He sailed Sea Dart around South America and then hauled her across the Andes to Lake Titicaca, 3 miles (4.8km) above sea level.

One of the best sailing yarns ever written. Click the pic above to order from Amazon.

The story of Sea Dart was what convinced me to buy this Deb', if she was strong enough to do that then she's strong enough for me. Apart from some patching up and painting, most of the electrics are ready to go, including chart plotter and VHF, with modifications this weekend to allow the installation of a cool box and internal lighting. New nav lights all ready to be fitted and once she's launched I can get busy with other work while learning the ropes

Forgot to add
We aim to cruise the East coast around the Wash area for a short while just to check her out (Plenty of sand banks if anything goes wrong) then move around, possibly to Lowestoft but not confirmed yet. Eventually, who knows, but unlikely to be South America

In a shed, awaiting restoration, I have a Yachting World 24 by designer Per Brohall, which is remarkably similar. Can you confirm the length of your boat is 21 ft ? Is there a centreboard ?

Great boats - a friend has one in superb condition on the Blackwater - he's one of the best sailors I know (taught me to sail when I were a nipper). It can float in about 70cms of water!

Just back from checking the dimensions and can confirm she is 21ft LOA with a 7ft beam and no centreboard. Let me know if you want to see more pics and I can either post or e.mail them for comparison.

I had tremendous fun pottering in the YW, and wish you lots of excitement. Little boats are what it's all about - sniff, weep, nostalgia - (said safely from the comfort of the conservatory onboard :D )

I suspect you may have seen it already, but there is a Caprice 19' being broken for spares on YBW.com. Might be a useful source of bits & pieces/ spares/ gear etc.

And who cares if TJ was a liar, it's the way he tells 'em that's important. I saw him interviewed by Terry Wogan once, it was a great interview. I also admire his ability to keep the lies going - quite a task that, not that I have ever tried it :D

Not surprisingly yes I had seen that, shame but nothing I need on offer so unless he's just looking for someone to take the stuff off his hands, I think it may well remain unsold.
