Claymore's tide thingy.
OK, I give in, where can I find Claymore's tidal gate guide/summary? I can't find it in a forum search or in the downloads/articles.

I think it was on Claymore's blog, which may, or may not, still exist somewhere. The data below is extracted from his table - the forum doesn't do columns I'm afraid:
Tidal Gates HW HW
Oban Dover
Dorus Mor
West Going Stream Commences 3.3 -1.5
East Going Stream Commences -2.15 4.55
Sound of Luing
West Going Stream Commences 4.3 -0.5
East Going Stream Commences -1.55 5.15
Cuan Sound
West Going Stream Commences 4.2 -1
East Going Stream Commences -2 5.1
Corryvreckan
West Going Stream Commences 4.1 -1.1
East Going Stream Commences -2.1 5

Re: Claymore's tide thingy.
I'll have to try that in future, I usually use the search facility on the web site I'm on, I have seen it said before that using Google gives better results.
Googling "Claymore's tidal gate " the YBW thread comes out top.
On BM I looked at the first 3 pages of results before I gave up.

In Yorkshire, and Lancashire, a pint is beer, if he wants a tot to go with it I'm sure we could run to that.

Re: Claymore's tide thingy.
I have a company regatta soon, that will wander out the Clyde this year to the West Coast. There is much gnashing of teeth, wringing of hands and consternation about tidal gates, as the 3 common ones are likely to be transited.
Anyway, this thread came up on my search for Claymores Tidal Gates, but so did the actual link to an old blog, where the Optimus Prime's All Spark still exists, undiminished and waiting to serve again ...
https://claymore2015.wordpress.com/2012 ... ate-chart/
I shall be posting this link to the regatta committee, so that they can use this ancient knowledge. I did direct them to Visit My Harbour tidal atlas, that is so bland in comparison and requires rudimentary thought.
... much has happened since 2011, when this thread was started. But what wonders, back in antiquity, of a time long forgotten, when the scared table was created and around it sat the Chents.
Anyway, thanks for the Table Claymore, so handy.
