The best anchorage I have found on Colonsay is Kiloran, but even in an easterly, and tucked into the "protected" SE corner its roly at springs. I have anchored a couple of times in Staosnaig, but the cables always seem a bit limiting, so I guess some buoys are a good thing, and its an easy walk to the hotel , which does very good food and drink.

The anchorage in Oronsay is the one I like best. A lot of sky, usually we are the only boat, although last year with the increase in visitors, we parked there one afternoon expecting the place to ourselves and by evening 5 other boats were around us. The unknown seaman war graves near the Priory are incredibly moving. Well worth a visit.
