The Peat Dead and The Dead of Jura, Allan Martin
The Peat Dead and The Dead of Jura, Allan Martin
Two detective stories with a difference. The detective is based in Oban. I found them both to be interesting tales. The endings of both were a bit disappointing but overall very enjoyable reads centred respectively on Islay and Jura.

There's a new one, "The Dead of Appin". I haven't read it yet but I will give it a go.

I enjoyed these.
A couple of the deaths after the first one seemed a bit gratuitous but hey ho.
I liked the coverup/skepticism thing too, it seems to fit with current politics and "the Ministry of Truth".

Yeah, the current politics line is interesting
I enjoyed them, tho I think the first was the best.
Recently read the shetland sailing mysteries set, and enjoyed them, tho no wonder that lass got the evil eye in one of the later books, shes a magnet for corpses
